#1 The Bride - Kill Bill

Beatrix Michelle Kiddo, also known as “the Bride,” is described as the deadliest woman in the world. After her ex-lover crashes her wedding and murders everyone she holds dear, the retired assassin goes on a revenge-fueled, blood-soaked killing spree. In her signature yellow jumpsuit, the Bride proves her martial arts skills and her badassery beyond a doubt. Tap through her style!

#2 Wonder Woman

Born Diana on the island of Themyscira, Princess of the Amazonas, Wonder Woman is a warrior of peace and has abilities far beyond those of mortals. She’s described as “beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, swifter than Hermes, and stronger than Hercules.” Equipped with the Lasso of Truth by the Gods of Olympus and the Bracelets of Submission formed from the remnants of Zeus's legendary Aegis shield, Wonder Woman was the first female superhero.

#3 Catwoman

The orphan Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, is a real survival artist working the streets of Gotham City. The martial arts and cat burglary master took to thievery to get by but is determined to do it in style, moderated always by a reluctant altruism.  Though she certainly doesn’t need a man in her life, she does enjoy Batman’s company from time to time - even as she delights in using the ambiguity of their relationship to be a villain as often as an ally.

#4 Mia Wallace - Pulp Fiction

Femme fatale Mia Wallace is not only the cocaine sniffing, 5 Dollar Milkshake drinking, “Red Apple” smoking wife of a kingpin drug dealer. She is also known for her rather unconventional, then-masculine way of dressing which made her trophy-winning twist dance with Vincent Vega truly iconic.

#5 Mulan

To save her father from going to war against the Huns, Mulan disguises herself as a man and enlists in the Chinese army. With bravery, endurance and kindness she proves that she’s not only equal to her peers but also an indispensable, quick-thinking leader as well as, eventually, a war hero.

#6 Rey - The Last Jedi

Expert scavenger, self-taught fighter, ace pilot, Rey is a signature Star Wars heroine for a new generation. No special Skywalker bloodline infuses her destiny, no special mentor lifted her up (no, grumpy Luke doesn’t count) - the Force flows through her, and she wields it like a natural.

#7 Hermione Granger - Harry Potter

Hermione is Harry Potter’s super smart BFF, one of the best students Hogwarts has ever seen, and even Minister of Magic later in her career. Without her, Harry and Ron probably would’ve been burnt to a crisp within minutes of book one. Far from a fashionista, Hermione wins people over with kindness, selflessness, and by knowing that there are more important things in life than books and cleverness: friendship and bravery.

#8 Lara Croft - Tomb Raider

Lara Croft, globetrotting treasure hunter par excellence, was born to an aristocratic family but never interested in upper class life. She soon finds her own path attending University College London and becomes an archaeologist. She’s smart, curious, adventurous, has great problem solving skills and never gives up - no matter how dangerous or deadly it is. Because at her core, she’s a Tomb Raider. Get ready for the combat!

#9 Katniss Everdeen - Hunger Games

Foremost archer of her District, Katniss Everdeen offers herself in place of her sister for the annual Hunger Games without hesitation. Utilizing her skills as a smart, talented hunter and trapper, and by teaming up with other entrants to the Games, she survives multiple rounds and becomes the spark of rebellion against the tyrant Snow.

#10 Trinity - Matrix

Besides being a kickass hacker, programmer, helicopter pilot and martial arts pro (with a slick all-black, all-leather look), Trinity was first mate on the Nebuchadnezzar and indispensable in helping Morpheus free people from the Matrix. And with her true love for Neo - “the one” - she reminds him that he is not actually in the Matrix, thereby saving his life - oh, and the human race. Find out how deep the rabbit hole goes 🕶️

#11 Eleven - Stranger Things

Telekinetic escaped government experiment, incredible friend, supreme lover of waffles, Eleven is many things, all of them consistently badass. But she’s a heroine not because of what happens to her, but in how she responds to it: with a furious power that comes from justified anger - something she’s slowly learning to harness without letting it exhaust her.

Don’t be afraid of the upside down.

#12 Leeloo - The Fifth Element

Last but not least, one of the Supreme Beings of the Universe, Leeloominaï Lekatariba Lamina-Tchaï Ekbat De Sebat (ahem, "Leeloo"). She is genetically superior to humans, virtually flawless, and was sent to Earth to become the Fifth Element, the final piece of a weapon to destroy the Great Evil. With her ability to unite the power of the four elemental stones to form the Divine Light (and her unique badass outfits), Leeloo has the class (and the multipass) to close this list out.
